Stanthorpe has a well-deserved reputation as a generous community. The town of just over 5000 residents which raised $38,000 for the Victorian bushfire victims is looking to set a new record with its latest fundraiser for Queensland's flood victims.
Building on a successful formula, the community is holding a giant auction Saturday 26 February beginning at 9am at the Stanthorpe showgrounds. They are accepting plant and equipment, fresh produce, furniture and welcome gift vouchers from tradies and other service providers. To contribute contact Scott 0427 814444 or Stuart 0417 814073.
Meanwhile the Granite Belt's tourist operators are doing their bit and offering a Fab Feb 30% OFF campaign to visitors this month. It could be a great time to visit the Queensland wine capital.
